Introducing Smart Exploration
Smart Exploration organized a bootcamp for SINReM International Master students studying in Geology and Geophysics departments. The group of students visited Ludvika 3D seismic survey in May 2019. It was a successful day with a good mix of geology and geophysics, and how these two disciplines compliment each other.
During the Ludvika 3D seismic survey, Smart Exploration team went visiting two high schools and 60 students had hands-on experience during 3D seismic survey in the forests of Ludvika. The students were briefed about the challenges of raw materials and mineral exploration and how EU and EU funded projects address the issues for a better and sustainable future. Then they were given field demonstrations and explained how different aspects of a 3D seismic work come together and what kind of knowledge and experience is needed for such survey. The students had the opportunity to lay cables, plant geophones and create their own seismic source by a synchronised jump and seeing the results in the recording truck.
E-Vibe and GPS time system testing
Smart Exploration team has successfully tested two prototypes in Bant, Netherlands (Dec 2018) and Neves Corvo Mine, Portugal (Jan-Feb 2019).
HTEM test flight
Smart Exploration project has developed a new HTEM system. The task leader SkyTEM had flew over the Blogberget mining site in Ludvika, Sweden in July 2019.
