interoperable and re-usable (FAIR) following the guidelines and instructions provided by the
European Commission. In doing this, however, a differentiation should be made in that this does
not imply totally open-accessibility to non-consortium beneficiaries. Certain non-disclosure
agreements have been put in place to protect some of the existing data (generated outside the
project but made available for methodological developments and benchmarking purposes) or
even data to be acquired within the project.
In this document we provide a firsthand approach (this is a living document and subject to review
and modifications) to be used in the Smart Exploration project for its Data Management Plan. The full document is available for download and consultation here.
Deliverable D24: Workshop on PEDR
ensure that the results of Smart Exploration are communicated at a wide-scale, among
relevant partners, stakeholders, end-users, and for general public awareness.
The PEDR represents the strategic vision on communication and is also the main way to define and
measure the impact parts of the project.
In order to achieve the PEDR objectives and activities, PEDR workshops have been held on various
dates since the project’s inception to ensure that PEDR activities and management are undertaken
in a systematic and strategic way while realizing practicalities involved when dealing with
exploration and mining activities.
