The technical presentations are designed to reach a technical audience interested in getting detailed information on Smart Exploration’s methodologies and tools.
Besides some video recorded during field works, different series have been designed: the “Rapid-Fire Talks”, the “Innovative Posters” and the Conference Presentations series have been released in a scheduled timeline.
Neves-Corvo Underground Recording
Smart Exploration team has been conducting seismic survey at Somincor – Lundin Mining Neves Corvo Mine. This video shows how they operate underground, acquiring data 590 level below at the exploration tunnels.
Wireless Receivers in Mines
Smart Exploration team has been conducting seismic survey at Somincor – Lundin Mining Neves Corvo Mine. This video shows how the receivers were placed underground.
Harvesting on the surface line
In this video Smart Exploration Surface team is harvesting data that is recorded on the surface lines.
Smart Exploration GPS Time Transmitter @ PDAC2020
Our project coordinator Alireza Malehmir – Uppsala University – explains how the GPS Time Transmitter works at PDAC 2020. “Without this system, it would be impossible to do a seismic acquisition underground in the mine tunnels combined with surface lines”.
Smart Exploration HTEM System @ PDAC2020
Technology and Society - EU Panel @ PDAC2020
An interesting panel discussion took place during the European Commission’s workshop on “Exploration and Mining Technologies” at PDAC2020. The panelists gave their views on society & technology relationship and public acceptance. Here is what our project coordinator Alireza Malehmir brought to the table.
Slimhole Field Testing
Uppsala University and BitSim AB have been developing a Slimhole system as one of the five prototypes within the project. BitSim AB and Uppsala University teamed up for the actual testing on the field: the system has passed the first test with a beautiful image of the data and we are ready for the testing in the mine site.
3D Seismic Survey at the Blötberget Mine Site
In the past three years, we performed a 3D seismic datasets at the Ludvika Mines Nordic in Sweden owned by Iron Ore AB. This video summarizes the work done and how we estimate nearly 10 Mt of potential iron-oxide resources may be present within the seismic volume, key geological structures as well as how we delineated a historical tailing as a by-product of the processing workflow.
