Hellas Gold Exploration Site, Greece

Hellas Gold has been active in Greece since 2004, and became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Eldorado Gold through its acquisition of European Goldfields in 2012. In Greece, Hellas currently has two mining operations; Olympias (a gold-silver-lead-zinc mine) and Stratoni (a silver-lead-zinc mine) plus two development projects; Perama Hill (an epithermal gold-silver project) and Skouries (a high-grade gold-copper porphyry).

Hellas exploration teams are advancing existing projects and actively evaluating new opportunities throughout the Western Tethys Belt. Exploration at Skouries is focused on identifying and testing porphyry targets within the project area including Fisoka. Ongoing activities as part of Smart Exploration include geological mapping, soil sampling and geophysical surveys. Results of this work will be interpreted using Machine Learning algorithms such as Self-Organizing Maps.
