A Smart Exploration crew made up by Uppsala University, Seismic Mechatronics, Nordic Iron Ore AB, Geological Survey of Sweden and Ludvika Kommun just packed and left the field after another validation test in the Ludvika area, Sweden.
The E-Vibe developed by Seismic Mechatronics has been tested once again in the Blötberget mine site provided by Nordic Iron Ore AB between 23 and 27 September. During the validation process new data have been collected and will be compared to those previously acquired by the hydraulic source.
While performing the geophysical survey, our on-field crew hosted a local high school together with SINReM Master students. Students were introduced to mineral exploration and the different methods used on the field while having a hands-on experience on data acquisition.
We also had a visit from those local retired miners that showed up during the May 2019 survey to learn more about our activities!
It will be very interesting to see the final outcome of this new validation test in Blötberget. The 3D images that you can create is very powerful. What is the possibility to carry out validation using your methods for the giant Väsman fields as well? Parts of Väsman field is under solid ground and parts of it under the lake. Is it possible to use the methods from a lake or in winter from ice surface? It will be very interesting going forward once Blötberget is on it´s way!
